Your wedding reception should be filled with celebratory music! After all, your wedding day will be one of the most meaningful and memorable days of your life. However, with many songs that may seem as though they would complement your big day positivity, this may not be the case.

Tips for Interviewing Your Wedding DJ

With loving titles and lyrics that seem romantic, you may think that some songs would be the perfect choice for presenting at your wedding reception. But, some songs actually hold an entirely different meaning.

Here at Bill Pence Music, we want to ensure that only the most appropriate songs are presented at your wedding reception. That’s why we have gathered some songs that you will actually want to avoid showcasing. To learn what these songs are, be sure to continue reading:

  • Every Breath You Take. While Every Breath You Take by the Police may sound like a romantic song, it is actually about a couple who is not together, but one still longing for the other. In a sense, this song could actually come off as quite “stalker-ish”, which certainly wouldn’t be ideal to expose on your special day.
  • I Will Always Love You. Almost everyone is familiar with the song I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston. Always loving your partner is certainly something to cherish. However, this song has a different meaning. Reflecting the love of a couple who is no longer together isn’t something that you will want to showcase on your wedding day.
  • Just the Two of Us. Your marriage is all about you and your partner, just the two of you. But, choosing to play Just the Two of Us by Bill Withers won’t allow you to reflect that. In fact, this song is actually about the relationship between a father and his son, not a couple.
